A major milestone!
We are officially on our way to getting rid of diapers. We tried the potty training thing several months ago, but long story short...it wasn't the right time. So yesterday, out of the blue, Lindsey decided she was ready to start wearing big girl panties, and I figured, "why not?" So we have taken the plung and we aren't looking back. We've had a few accidents, but she is doing a great job and is feeling like a big girl. (Although, honestly, it's about time. We've been reading a book (every night the past 2 weeks) "I'm a Big Kid Now" that my cousin, Bryan, gave to her. She knew what to do and could articulate it very well.) We've been talking more about it the past few days and I finally told her it is time to stop talking about it. Grandma and Grandpa gave her lots of encouragement on Friday. I have to admit that I've been using peer pressure too. Thanks to everyone who has given her words of encouragement! We are on our way!

Training for a Sack Race
If anyone knows of a sack race in the area please let us know. (Ha! Ha!) Apparently Lindsey is in training right now. She pulled out the liner of her laundry basket and started doing this around the house.
Never a dull moment.
Dirty Fun
You can't get four tri-axle truck loads of dirt and not have some fun. So here we are yesterday evening. Having fun and enjoying the gorgeous weather.
Jeremy's leading by example.
Lindsey and Daddy at the top.
Lindsey finally got brave enough to climb up by herself.
"I did it! I did it!"
Us girls.
Digging didn't last very long. She liked climbing better.
Wearing the fun all over her face.
Another beautiful day!
Garden 2009
Those of you close by have probably heard our sad garden story this year. For those of you who haven't...we were drowned out..not once, but TWICE. It was terrible and oh so sad. I didn't get to do any canning...which I actually LOVE to do.
Well, I was out yesterday and found a few things that actually survived.
Well, I was out yesterday and found a few things that actually survived.
Two flowers...out of about 400 seeds there were planted.
And this little batch of tomatoes...yes, all the tomatoes are pictured. Prior to this batch we picked about three, yep 3, tomatoes.
So we are making plans now for a better garden next year. We had four of these come in the past two days. Four trucks of beautiful, rich top soil. We're hoping to raise up the garden about 6 inches.
She's Got Wheels
Lindsey got a new bike from her Grandma and Grandpa. She can actually reach the pedals and make it go (in a straight line). She has ridden it every day since. She still needs to practice on getting it to turn.
Lindsey and Grandma.
Lindsey and Grandpa..
Lindsey in action.
Our Inventive Little Girl
We spent Labor Day doing labor. We organized the garage. Lindsey was "helping" and entertaining herself. While playing with her jump rope she figured out that if she put the handle of one end into one of the handles of the old tiller she would be able to twirl the jump rope by herself. Jeremy and I were very impressed that she figured this out on her own. It's fun to watch her mind work.
