Another Snow Day

Today was the 2nd snow day in a row, not that it really applies to us because Lindsey isn't in school...but we still have a great time going out and playing in it.  This evening Jeremy got the tractor out and plowed the driveway.  Then he got out the little tractor and hooked up the sled.  Lindsey absolutely LOVED IT!

Snow fun!

These pictures don't fully express the great time Lindsey was having.  I wish you could have heard her squeals of delight.  She was having a great time!  There were a few times that she rolled off the sled...which she didn't mind.  She just got up and climbed right back on.

Snow, Snow, Snow, Snow!

I love snow!  It has been hard for me this week...I've had to fight watching Christmas movies (specifically, White Christmas).  The world around us has been beautiful with a blanket of white snow.  The trees have also been painted white, but just in certain spots.  I love it!

I love this picture because you can see the snow coming down

Lots of fun in a Winter Wonderland!

Playing with Daddy

I love watching Jeremy play with Lindsey.  This evening she was clearly playing, "let's see how much stuff Daddy can hold".  It was quite funny.  Something would fall and she would pick it up and put it back on him.  Then she decided that she needed to sit on his lap as well.  They have so much fun together...it completely warms my heart.

Meeting Mya

So I posted 2 weeks ago that Mya had joined our family, but it wasn't until this past Saturday that Jeremy and Lindsey got to meet her because they were sick and we didn't want to risk taking anything to Amanda or Mya.  So here are a few sweet pictures.  Surprisingly, Lindsey was off playing with toys most of the time and I don't have any pictures of her with Mya.

So precious!

Happy Birthday, Grandma!

February 11th was Mom's birthday.  We celebrated on Friday evening with a cake and homemade pizza.

I made the cake and Lindsey had a great time decorating it.

Every red heart was stratigically placed.

Grandma and Lindsey

My mom has always been a rock in my life, especially when it comes to the gospel.  She has been able to answer any question I've ever had, and I appreciate that.  She taught me to recognize the promptings of the Spirit at a young age, and I know that attributed to my strong testimony.  She has always encouraged me to do better and follow my dreams.  She has always been my voice of reason, and I still hear her often.  : )  I will always remember her example of service as she reached out to others in need, often taking me along.  Unfortunately I can't say that we have always been the best of friends...because you know...I used to be a teenager...but I can say that now my mom is one of my closest friends.  She is there for me, no matter what!  I love that we live close and she is a part of my daily life, despite this we still have daily phone conversations...something I will miss terribly when she is gone.  I am who I am because of my mother...for better or worse.  I am grateful for all the sacrifices she has made through her life for my behalf.  I could not have asked for a better mother!  Mom, I love you!  Thanks for being you!

Super Bowl, Baby!

Sunday, February 7th was the Super Bowl between the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints.  I know this is old news, and painful reminder the Colts lost, but I had to post photos of our personal Colts cheerleader.

She quickly got into the spirit...
thanks to the outfit from Grandma and Grandpa.

Touchdown!

Although we were disappointed with the end result of the game we sure had a great time watching it together.

Go On Without Me

Tonight before Family Home Evening Lindsey was having a good time playing with her Polly Pockets, and Jeremy asked her to put them down so we could all get ready.  Lindsey replied, "you guys just go on without me".  Jeremy then got to explain to her how Family Home Evening is for the whole family and that we do it together.  Okay, so I expected to hear this at some time, but not really form her at age 3.  She cracks me up!  Jeremy was able to go on and give a nice lesson about the Golden Rule.  I love having Family Night!  It always makes the spirit stronger in our home.

Capturing Memories

So as we have been putting our adoption information a new website recently I have come to realize that I take practically all our pictures and I'm not in many of them.  Now, I really don't fight the fact that I'm taking the pictures, because I really don't like looking at myself, but I have come to realize the more important thing...I want Lindsey to be able to look back at pictures in her life and see that I was right there with her through it all (although I hope see'll know that, she may also want to see it).  So, here is Jeremy's attempt of taking some pictures of Lindsey and I.

Here we are kneading our pizza dough for our Friday night pizza.

Rolling out the dough.
(Lindsey loves her little pizza baking set she got
for Christmas from Aunt Mel and Uncle Jason.)

Crocheting together.  I've been working on this afghan for awhile and was hoped to have it done Christmas this past year, but I just didn't make it.  So now I pick it up her and there.  It will get done someday and will be really snuggly.  Who knows, I may even keep it for myself.  I am always amazed how something so beautiful can be made by a single straight piece of yarn.  Lindsey would love to crochet too...I'll teach her...someday.

Heavenly Fathers's Creations

Ealier this week before the most recent winter storm hit, we got to see some beautiful birds in our backyard. Two of them were beautiful Blue Jays.  I sure hope they found a nice warm place to stay this weekend.  We are really looking forward to spring.  I appreciate that Heavenly Father gave me a glimpse (seeing and hearing) of it while the cold weather is still here.

The next day we saw 16 of these...
jake turkeys (immature males).

I can't help but wonder if this is part of the same flock we saw back in the spring with their mothers.  It's a great blessing to be able to see so many of Heavenly Father's creations all around us.

New Family Member

The Thompson family is finally increasing.  We welcomed a new neice into the family this past Saturday.  She is precious!  I sure wish she could talk to me (I can keep a secret).

Spring at Our House

It's Spring at our house!  Jeremy and Lindsey bought me these beautiful tulips (one of my favorites) last week.  We have enjoyed them on our dining room table.

New Hair Dos

Lindsey and I got our hair cut last week.  This picture shows our new shoulder length hair.  I absolutely LOVE Lindsey's hair like this, although it makes her look WAY TOO old!  She's cute no matter what!
