If you have read any of our blog you know that I love a good quote. Well, I found another one today...
"We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop." ~Mother Teresa

First Scripture & Prayer in Primary
Today was Lindsey's first time giving the scripture and closing prayer in Primary. She was very excited about doing it, but got nervous when she saw all the kids looking at her. She asked me to come up with her "just in case" she needed help. When prompted with the first word, though, she went on in a rather quiet voice. Thanks to the microphone she was still heard in the back. Daddy, Grandma, Grandpa and Papaw all came to see her. She made it through the scripture and even gave the prayer all by herself. This was her scripture...
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God" (Matthew 5:6).
She told me, "I didn't really like it. I was nervous". We'll see how things go when she gets her first talk assignment...now that the newness is gone from it all. :)

Good Times with Family
Sunday, August 1, 2010
We had a, sort of, family reunion today at Aunt Karen and Uncle Bob's house since Shawna and the kids, and JD and Sklyar were in town. It's so wonderful to live close to extended family that we can get together and hang out, especially when the out-of-towners come to town. :) (Aunt Sharon brought a slip-n-slide for the kids to play on.) They had a great time getting wet on this hot day.
I love watching Lindsey play with her cousins (including those 2nd cousins. I hope she will look back on these memories like I do with my cousins. Great memories! Love you all.

Lindsey was VERY apprehensive...
her first time on a slip-n-slide...
so Daddy helped her get a feel for it.
The second trip...
she was a little more confident.
A little later...
she knew what she was doing...well, kind of.
(we need to watch for one on clearance to use next year)
Jaimee and Scott
Love you guys!!!
Miss Emma...such a cutie!
Molly was having a great time. She would walk most of the way then crawl under the "bridge". Lindsey started to follow her example. Those girls are too funny!
Lucas knew exactly what he was doing!
Shawna and Bella....Bellas was loving the icing on the cupcakes.
(sorry this is the best I got that day)
Skylar was having a great time getting to know everyone.
(The best thing...I heard Lucas tell Skylar when he was leaving, "I had a fun time playing with you". Oh, my heart melted. I love kids! They are so genuine.)
Sisters, Sisters!
(I know neither of us like this, sis, but this one is for our posterity.)

Lessons Learned in the Journey of Life
I came across this quote this morning and fell in love. Maybe it will touch you too.
"Make up your mind to be happy-even when you don't have money, even when you don't have a clear complexion, even when you don't have the Nobel Prize. Some of the happiest people I know have none of these things the world insists are necessary for satisfaction and joy. Why are they happy? I suppose it is because they don't listen very well. Or they listen too well-to the things their hearts tell them. They glory in the beauty of the earth. They glory in the rivers and the canyons and the call of the meadowlark. They glory in the love of their families, the stumbling steps of a toddler, the wise and tender smile of the elderly. They glory in honest labor. They glory in the scriptures. They glory in the presence of the Holy Ghost. One thing I know for certain: the time we have here goes by far too quickly. Don't waste any more time sitting on the bench watching life pass you by."
